“Katherine was adopted from China when she was 18 months old. She qualified for speech therapy, so we immediately went to work teaching her both sign and verbal language. Despite the therapy, Katherine did not speak more than one-word utterances until she was close to 4 years old. She’s now 11, and after beginning our program with NeuroDevelopmental Movement® Consultants just over one year ago, Katherine is ready to discontinue speech therapy altogether! Is she the next famous toastmaster? Of course not, but her improvement is remarkable. One of her most exciting achievements is her ability to hear and repeat multisyllabic words. There seemed to be a gap between hearing and processing long words into her speech. Knowing that her hearing checked out fine, we focused on different methods to help her in speech. Nothing worked as quickly and efficiently as Bette’s developmental work. Our family will be forever grateful to Bette for helping us.”
